(Traurige) Medizingeschichte zwischen 1880 und dem ersten Weltkrieg an der Berliner Charité, erlebt durch die Augen einer (heranwachsenden) Frau aus einer nicht gerade bevorzugten Schicht der Gesellschaft, die es nicht schafft, den damaligen Zeitgeist und die damit einhergehenden Resentiments gegen Frauen und die Standesdünkel der Mediziner zu überwinden, um zu studieren und um als Wissenschaftlerin anerkannt zu werden.

Schöne Bilder, kuriose Geschichten, einiges Wissenswertes, aber wirklich nähergebracht hat mich das Buch Caspar David Friedrich nicht.
