Review of 'Hyperfocus' on 'Goodreads'

Still like the book and his writing style. Lots of great ideas in it. Once again, the scatterfocus part is totally underrated. You need the balance to perform on your highest level.

My top 3 quotes from the book:

Their cellular radios aside, our phones have the same parts as a computer—but for some reason, perhaps because they provide us with so much stimulation and validation throughout the day, we allow them to interrupt us constantly, infinitely more than our computers. We shouldn’t give any shiny rectangular device so much power.

Attention without intention is wasted energy.

Being busy doesn’t make us productive. It doesn’t matter how busy we are if that busyness doesn’t lead us to accomplish anything of importance. Productivity is not about cramming more into our days but about doing the right thing in each moment.

I like his reading style and I like his attitude (check out his Podcast, it's interesting and funny and you get to know his fiancé).

Back to the book:
It's basically divided in two parts. The first is about Hyperfocus (hence the title) and the second part is about scatterfocus (the counterpart if you will). I didn't find too many new things in the first part but it was absolutely worth reading the second part (and experimenting with his ideas).
