He lands in the year 802701: the world has been transformed by a society living in apparent harmony and bliss, but as the Traveler stays in the future he discovers a hidden barbaric and depraved subterranean class. Wells's transparent commentary on the capitalist society was an instant bestseller and launched the time-travel genre.

HG Wells was truly visionary. Almost written for the silver screen, this holds up well by today's standards though fails a bechdel test. Left me wondering indeed what the future may hold, but probably not cannibalism communism
Si j'ai aimé la lecture de ce livre et le style de Wells j'ai eu plus de mal avec l'aspect science fiction. Les amateurs seront ravis de retrouver l'un des textes fondateurs du genre. Pour les autres je le conseille car il éclaire par sa lecture beaucoup d'aspects d'oeuvres modernes
