J-F Dubeau: A God in the Shed (Paperback, Inkshares)

The village of Saint-Ferdinand has all the trappings of a quiet life: farmhouses stretching from …

This was … bad. The idea that, after a decade long killing spree, only the local police department would be involved because one guy was good with „avoiding press“ was bad. The cults in the open and the kind-of magic was bad. The romance was bad. Character introductions were bad and the fact that not a single character could exist without either being killed or believed to be the chosen one was bad. THAT THE FUCKING GOD COULD NOT SOMEHOW TIP OVER, DESTROY OR AT LEAST ARRANGE A POWER OUTAGE TO DEACTIVATE THE CAMERA WAS BAD WITH THE SHED BEING UNMONITORED MOST OF THE TIME!

This feels like someone found a writing prompt on Tumblr and just went with it. It was sold as horror without being ever scary but just bloody. I never thought more in my life: who would want another book of this?
