Interesting to read a science fiction book written in 1989 in the year 2024. Some predictions are not so bad, others are funny (e.g. a bookshop that prints books on request - instead of showing them on a tablet)

Essentially each chapter having each tenth of pages consists of one sentence in one paragraph. Within one sentence time, history and personas change. I found it an appealing concept to keep attention of the reader. The stories are typical (?) Scandinavian and while not full of action, but more the typical life, they can be a relaxing and good read

An interesting book on the history of east Asia and the emergence and dissolution of kingdoms and nations (defined in "Westphalian" terms and/or ethnics/racial terms) as well as the associated conflicts
