I read this book on KU, but I'm going to buy it because it's a keeper. The author has a rare talent of saying things between the lines, of developing characters and storylines without needing to explicitly state things. I'm absolutely in love with her style.

The only thing I'd wish for would be to learn more about Kitten, Jasper, Mary, and Gabriel. Maybe there'll be this chance in the future :-)

expect the unexpected ... friendship, fighting, finding on's home - this book is absolutely magical

The first sentence already drew me in. I loved the approach of watching the story unfold through the eye of a child, albeit a wise and unique one. This ist not your regular fantasy. It is mixing world similar to Habsburgian Europe with magic, and it does it very cleverly so. Highly recommended!

After Franz-Karl astonished me so much in the first book, I worried about what would happen to him in the second... and yes, this book is not for the feitn of heart.

A gripping young hero, a despicable anatgonist, and twists and turns that work without epic battles - I am a fan!

wie Teil 1. Splice wird wirklich gruselig, und man kann Triih und Zac nur die Daumen drücken...

what can I say - I usually refrai from reading books of series that aeren'T finished yet, but each book can stand on its own feet and I never regretted reading South Breaks. You get a uniqeu heroine - sweet yte strong - und different fantasticyl and quite bloody wolrd (not explicit, but you get the pic), and I am hooked for the rest of the series

so geht es los, so geht es weiter. Bei manchen Worschöpfungen bin ich gestlopert - da wurde man endlich mal wieder gefordert, seinen Kopf anzustrengen. An Action mangelt es dem Buch überhaupt nicht, und die Beziehung zwischen den Geschwistern Zac und Trish gibt dem ganzen einen menschlichen Note. Teil 2 (hab ich schon gewlesen), legt dann übrigrens noch eine Schippe drauf!
