A humorous story of a barbarian who has been wronged by a group of wizards and seeks revenge by killing them all. The story starts near the end, with the 'civilised' barbarian sitting down to have a meal with his companion, a thief. The barbarian then starts telling the story, to his companion, with an attempt to meet a council of wizards with a request. The next thing he remembers is having to fight a god, losing his sword, and having to kill the wizards who did this to him.
Coming back to the present, the barbarian prepares to find the last wizard to kill. But the wizard has plans for him, and it would require all his intelligence, plus his barbarian strength and rage to defeat him. The story also comes full circle with the resolution of his original request, which was a cause of much pain and …
