Death and the Joyful Woman

Someone had battered Alfred Armiger to death with a champagne bottle. The favorite suspect was his son Leslie who had married a humble clerk from the brewery offices instead of the beer heiress his father had decreed.

But many other had wished Armiger dead. Among them was Kitty Norris, the jilted heiress, who, in her own efforts at detection, was aided, abetted, and adored by Dominic Felse, age fourteen. These two add charm and amusement in high and low life.
