In "Wool" you caught my attention and kept me on the edge of my seat, reading way past my bedtime.
"Shift" however was a ridiculously long flashback. Everything comes to a complete and utter stop. And yes, I did read the whole damn thing because I might not be able to grasp the full ramifications of the third part.
This really should have been a prequel. But that's not all... The writing was weaker, the women felt very "written by a man", and then there were the plot holes... I stumbled through to the end.
Writing this now I feel absolutely annoyed about the whole experience. Let's see if the spark of "Wool" is strong enough for me to pick up "Dust".
