Exzellent recherchiertes Buch. Immer wieder habe ich beim Lesen gestutzt und selber recherchiert, ob dieses oder jenes wirklich im Zusammenhang steht. Und immer wieder war ich fasziniert, dass es wirklich so ist.
Die Charaktere sind leider streckenweise etwas flach und manche Kapitel auch, aber insgesamt, gerade für wissenschaftlich interessierte, ein wirklich faszinierendes Buch.

I listened to the audio book (more an audio play, with multiple voice actors) ten years ago and I loved it. I had to listen to the whole thing in one go, which took until the next morning. I know not to try this book again because it will most likely not live up to my memories, so the rating reflects how I remember the (audio) book.
